Last night, Riley passed away. He was a great dog and a great companion to me. I got Riley in 2008, when an awesome family in my church graciously gave him to me as they decided to become missionaries. By the time Riley became mine, I had spent some time dog-sitting for him and I really liked him. I could not have been more excited to have a dog of my own… especially one as awesome as Ri. In the years that followed, he proved to be hilarious, friendly, slightly-ridiculous, mischievous, joyful and always loving. He was with me through a difficult transition from Michigan to Oklahoma and through several other tough seasons in my life. God used Riley to bring me a sense of stability and familiarity as he pushed me to grow as a man and take on new adventures. I’m so grateful to have enjoyed Riley’s company for so long. Ri was always God’s awesome creation. I’m just glad I got to borrow him for as long as I did. He will be missed!
