The Love Letter (by OutdoorResearch)

This is such an awesome short by Fitz Cahall about getting away from the humdrum of our routine lives and into the great outdoors. Enjoy!

Look what this guy just got in the mail… the Grigri 2 I ordered!

I just ordered a Grigri 2. I can’t wait to try it out on lead-belay!

You’re challenging yourself to be better than you, not better than everyone else around you.

I had a good night at the gym. I onsighted a brand new 5.11b!

That’s right, I’ve got a walkie-talkie… and I’m a volunteer judge at the Stonemaster Classic climbing competition at my gym.

My Favorite Climbing Shoes

My Five Ten 5X shoes are coming apart. Apparently it’s a manufacturing defect. I don’t have a problem with that. I know that nobody’s perfect and so I realize that these kind of things are bound to happen from time to time. In fact, Five Ten has been pretty helpful through the process, thus far.

The problem I have is that I can’t bear the thought of giving up my favorite shoes for a couple of weeks to go through the process of getting them fixed. You see, I don’t have backups, or extra shoes. I love my 5X’s. They’re awesome. I never bothered to buy another pair because I don’t see the need. My old Moccasyms need to be resoled, but they’re too big, so I never bothered to send them in.

I’m also one of those guys who will buy three pairs of jeans and then only wear one of them… over and over again until they’re worn out. I guess I just develop favorite shoes and apparel easily. But alas, I need to send my 5X’s in. In the meantime, I suppose I’ll have to break down and buy some spare shoes. Thankfully, I have a bright future with perfect 5X’s to look forward to!
